The People and Values Behind Law Office of Lisa L. Glenn, LLC
Proudly serving Matteson and the South Suburbs of Chicago with compassionate legal guidance focused on helping families feel informed, supported, and cared for during difficult life moments.
Built Around Compassionate Guidance for Illinois Families
The Law Office of Lisa L. Glenn, LLC was built to help people navigate sensitive legal situations with more clarity, patience, and personal support than they often find elsewhere. After witnessing the challenges her own family faced while caring for a grandmother living with dementia, Lisa Glenn developed a deep understanding of how emotionally overwhelming estate planning, guardianship, and probate matters can become for families. That experience shaped a law practice focused on helping people prepare for the future while reducing unnecessary stress, confusion, and conflict for loved ones later. Today, clients throughout Matteson and Cook County continue to rely on the firm because they receive thoughtful guidance, honest communication, and legal support that feels genuinely personal rather than transactional.
“Our mission is to turn your uncomfortable situation into a seamless and pain-free process while helping ensure your loved ones are not left with additional stress and uncertainty in the future.”
Meet Your Attorney
Lisa L. Glenn, ESQ.
Lisa is a family focused attorney dedicated to planning for the future. Lisa has been a practicing attorney in the state of Illinois for over a decade and is most proud of her ability to connect with clients on a personal level.
Our lead attorney’s interest in estate planning and probate began in law school when her grandmother began exhibiting signs of dementia. At the time Lisa was un-licensed and unable to provide the necessary legal assistance required. Regretfully, Lisa could not protect her grandmother from the full-term mental and financial effects of the illness. It was then, when she realized her passion for life planning and helping prevent other unfortunate souls from experiencing the same burden she had to endure.
Credentials
Lisa graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia (MIZZOU!) with a degree in Journalism, and a minor in English. She received her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School where she was a Secretary and founding member of the Disaster Relief Legal Association, a group focused on post-Katrina New Orleans and access to justice for those living below the poverty level. She was also a Business Law tutor for the Student Bar Association.

Meet Richard M. Seff
Richard’s story begins long before law school. He first earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work and spent years helping adolescents and families. Later, he earned a second Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from George Washington University and worked as a hospital administrator, always driven by a passion for serving people in meaningful ways.
During his second year of law school, Richard’s grandfather passed away. Despite having an estate plan prepared by a lawyer, the family was forced into a costly and time-consuming probate process because assets had not been transferred into the trust. That painful experience revealed a widespread problem: too many estate plans fail when families need them most.
When Richard graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in 1990, he joined a respected estate planning firm. But he soon realized that the traditional “billable hour” model—charging $400 per hour in six-minute increments—kept families from forming the kind of ongoing relationship he believed was essential. Too often, clients left with documents that looked fine on paper but failed to work in practice.
As a father himself, Richard also recognized a troubling gap: traditional estate plans often failed to account for what would happen to children if their parents were incapacitated. He knew families deserved better. That realization led him to start his own practice—one dedicated to building lasting relationships, ensuring plans remain effective over time, and being there for families when they need guidance most.

He works closely with clients to ensure their plans evolve as life changes—because families grow, laws shift, and circumstances change over time.
